Brief 4
This is an ISTD brief from 2010. My favourite so far, it's a really exciting and interesting brief, and as soon as I had read it, I just wanted to begin it right away. The channel the brief is based on is a little confusing, and I would like to change that but I have to stick to the brief. The channel being described sounds something similar to e4, Channel 4, ITV, Virgin (Channel One) and 5. The brief is a fantastic opportunity to use design for screen and produce some idents of blipverts.
Brief 3
This is an ISTD brief from 2010. It has a very interesting concept, and can allow almost any interpretation on the theme of journeys and connections, and from the beginning quote 'Eventually everything connects...' this shows the kind of openness. However, at present my mind is completely blank, and can't think of any initial ideas. Maybe I need a brief with a few more restrictions...
Brief 2
This is a D&AD brief. It's quite an interesting and exciting opportunity to produce design for screen but on a new kind of platform, the iPad. I have never tackled anything for the iPad before, but have designed a proposal for an iPhone app so I imagine it would be similar. The difficult side to this would be creating an interactive presentation of the app in operation, and would probably require After Effects as a means of showing a 'walk through'.
Brief 1
This is an ISTD brief from 2009. The element that first drew my attention to the brief was the fact it's a celebration of popular song lyrics from the 20th Century. Music is one of my passions, especially when it comes to good song lyrics. The fact that this brief gave an opportunity to create a screen based outcome was another plus, design for screen is a relatively new interest of mine, and I wish to pursue it. Although type isn't a key interest area for me, it is an opportunity to use type as image, and type is incredibly versatile in screen work, the possibilities are endless.
The only negative, is I have done a very similar project for my A-Level Graphics, it was for the song 'Needle and the Damage Done' and due to a lack of software knowledge I had to painstakingly create it on a carefully planned out Powerpoint, so maybe I should try something different.
