Magazine Ad Layouts

The magazine the advert will be in, will be for one of the television guides, which are about an A4 Portrait format.

Magazine Ad Ideas

As it stands at the minute I really do not like the eye being used in the portrait format, nothing seems to work as well. I need to experiment more with different layouts, but even the eye on it's own doesn't seem to look anywhere near as effective as it does in landscape format. The first half of the layouts, have a white mark at the corner of one of the eyes, I rectified this when I noticed it. Also the ITV logo should be on the right hand side - I think! Most of ITV's off-air campaigns have the logos on the right hand side.

Test Trailers 2

Test Trailer 8:

I have a new 'impact' noise for this one, it sounds so much better! It would help if I had the audio in time with the animation. From freesounds.org

 Test Trailer 9:
This is how it should have looked! The key is to make sure the peak of the wave form is in line with the correct point of the text transformation:

Test Trailer 10: I have used a new eye in this one, it is a photo I have taken myself - rather than the previous eye that I had taken from Google Images. However, the ripple in the eye is too early, it should be timed for when the words Eye Spy, hit the eye. Test Trailer 11: This is in time - and could well be a contender for a final trailer. Test Trailer 12: This is using the corridor image at the beginning - although as there isn't any people in it, it doesn't seem as relevant as the image with people in. However, I do like how the static works at the end with the twitchy text.

Billboard Proposal Ideas

Had a few issues getting the eye image into photoshop so these are just a few ideas in Photoshop, I will upload the proper ones once I rectify the problem...

The logo is not on the correct side! (After researching how ITV branding changes for off-air campaigns)

This is better. I have taken the eye from the motion graphic and used it as the main visual for a billboard, it  is eye catching for passers by (no pun intended!) without being to distracting. I have just included the title of the programme and the ITV logo.

Adding in the date and time for a CCTV effect... not sure if this looks right.

Layouts for Billboard Proposal

From my motion I can now think about the off-air campaign - taking into account ITV's branding.
I will take elements from my motion to create the off-air deliverables, that way there is some synchrony to the two.

Further Test Compositions

Eye Test:

This is just experimenting with my new eye (photo of Dale's eye!) - I have timed the rippling to the single piano notes. Looks pretty cool!

Eye Test 2:

Again the eye rippling is timed to the music, with the added Eye Spy, and the 'Monday 8:00pm' also appears in time with the piano note. So far, one of my favourites.

 Eye Test 3:

This is the same as above, but with a better finish.

 Eye Test 4:

It appears I have forgotten to include the sound before rendering! Oops. Lesson learnt.

 Eye Test 5:

I have tried to shorten the clip by only having one ripple, but now the ending is too abrupt.

 Eye Test 6:

This has been condensed even further to a 9 second clip.

 Eye Test 7:

The song fading out at the end is much smoother here! I seem to keep forgetting I am dealing with sound too.

 Eye Test 8:

This idea is with the original static noise, played after the eye with the text.

 Eye Test 9:

I have found a new impact sound... This can be heard on all speakers - I have to remember not everyone will have top quality speakers. It made me jump when I first heard it through headphones, its a very strong and sustained sound. It works much better.
